My First Day- The Trial

Today I had my first dosage of Gilenya, and so far it's been a great success! The trial starts off as a six hour observation where you ingest one dosage and are monitored by a nurse for the specifiied period of time. This procedure is done as a safgeguard to ensure that your system reacts properly to the medication. The nurse monitors your heart rate and blood pressure in thirty minute intervals, and I am happy to report that all of my tests went extremely well. I am excited to wake up tommorow morning to ingest a pill rather than a needle. That alone has lifted my spirits and brought me back to a sense of normalcy, which is a huge step in the often mental game that MS can be. For those of you who are ready to take the plunge into this promising new drug, I say don't wait around, take control, and contact your physician to find out about Gilenya's availability for you. I will make weekly updates about my progress and Gilenya. I hope this blog is informative for all people who have MS and are looking to use the most effective treatment on the market. Hopefully my experience will encourage others!
